Arrowleaf Muraina Grass is an annual grass with stems prostrate, 30-60 cm long. Stem-nodes are hairless. Ligule an efringed with hairs membrane; 3 mm long. Leaf-base is heart-shaped, or arrow shaped; without a false leaf-stalk, or with a false leaf-stalk; leaf-stalk 0-2.5 cm long. Leaf-blades lanceshaped; 5-7.5 cm long; 10-16 mm wide. Leaf surface hairless, or velvet-hairy; sparsely hairy, tip tapering. Inflorescence is composed of 2 paired racemes, appressed back to back; 2.5-6.3 cm long. Rhachis fragile at the nodes; angular; fringed with hairs on margins. Rhachis internodes are inflated; 3 mm long. Arrowleaf Muraina Grass is native to India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
