Botanical name: Jacquinia arborea    Family: Primulaceae (Primrose family)
Synonyms: Jacquinia barbasco, Jacquinia armillaris var. arborea

Braceletwood is shrub or small tree, up to 5 m tall. Stiff, dull yellow-green, fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves with edges turned under. Blades are 4-9 cm long and 1.5-4.5 cm wide. Leaves are clustered near ends of twigs. Flowers are small, white, fragrant, and bell-shaped. born in at branch-ends clusters. Fruits are orange-red, round berries which are pointed at the end. Braceletwood is native to Central America, cultivated elsewhere.
