Botanical name: Jatropha nana    Family: Euphorbiaceae (Castor family)

Dwarf Jatropha is a small sparingly branched shrub, 1-2 ft tall. Leaves are broadly wedge-shaped, 3-5 inches across, entire or 3-lobed. Lobes are broad, pointed. Leaves are carried on 3-5 mm long, stout stalks. Flowers are small, yellowish with 5 entire sepals, stalked, borne in few-flowered cymes on branch ends. Stamens are 8, all united in the lower half. Styles are slender, stigmas head-like. Fruits are 1 cm long, obovoid-oblong capsules, flattened at the top, somewhat 6-lobed. Dwarf Jatropha is found around Pune city, Maharashtra.
