Botanical name: Dendrobium infundibulum Family: Orchidaceae (orchid family)
A Southeast Asian, medium to large sized, hot to cool growing epiphytic
species found in deciduous trees at altitudes of 200 to 2300 meters with
erect, cylindrical, to 10 leafed stem with sheaths covered with black hairs
and narrowly ovate or linear-lanceolate, all along the new stem, dark green
obscurely bilobed apically leaves that can bloom at almost anytime of the year
but mostly spring and summer with an axillary, short, 2 flowered raceme that
arises from the nodes near the apex of the older leafless canes. They need a
dry winter rest from water and fertilizer and need temperatures a bit cooler
than Cattleyas.
