Ghat Goniothalamus is a large shrub to small tree, 3-5 m tall. Branchlets are hairless. Leaves are simple, alternate, carried on stalks 0.5-1.0 cm long. Leaves are minutely pubescent when young, 10-23 x 3.5-7.5 cm, varies from elliptic-oblong to oblanceolate, tip gradually long-pointed, base pointed to wedge-shaped, margins wavy, hairless, secondary nerves 8-15 pairs. Flowers arise singly in leaf axils or 1-3 clustered on older branches. Sepals are reddish green, petals pale green. Fruits are 1-seeded berries. Ghat Goniothalamus is endemic to Western_Ghats- South and Central Sahyadris.
