Green Pearls Orchid is a mini-miniature sized,
tree-dwelling or occasional rock-dwelling orchid with very small,
wrinkled, round or ovoid, glossy green pseudobulbs in clusters with a
single, tiny, erect, fleshy, oblong-elliptic, pointed, leaf with a
stalkless base. The leaf falls off eventually. The plant blooms
generally after leaf-fall on an erect to nearly erect, basal,
laterally, 2 cm long, single flowered inflorescence holding the flowers
above the leaf. The flowers are very tiny, 1 mm across, orange
zebra-striped. Green Pearls Orchid is found at elevations of 200-800 m,
from Central Nepal to NE India and Indo-China. Flowering:
July-September.
