Common name: Himalayan corydalis, Corydalis
Botanical name: Corydalis juncea Family: Fumariaceae (fumitory family)
Himalayan corydalis is a shortlived perennial wildflower native to the
Himalayas. The bright yellow summer flowers occur as early as May, are at
their height during the summer, & frequently persist until October or first
frost. The flowers look like the other common corydalis lutea, but have a
crimson coloring in the open mouth of the flowers. The name juncea
refers to the soft stem commonly seen in many acquatic plants, used in making
mats or chairs.
