This small to medium sized epiphyte has small, clustered, ovoid, 5-7
noded pseudobulbs and carries 3-4 apical, coriaceous, linear, obtuse
leaves, 13 to 18 cm. Lily Leaf Acriopsis blooms in the spring and summer on
a basal, 25 cm long, erect, paniculate inflorescence with many (up to 200)
flowers arising from the plant base. The sepals and petals are
cream-colored, blotched deep maroon apically, lateral sepals fused; lip
cream-colored, keel pale lavender, flat side lobes cream-colored, blotched
light lavender centrally. Tt is found at altitudes of 400-1600 m in lowland
swamps and montane forests of North-East India and other SE-Asian
countries.
