Botanical name: Oncidium 'Goldiana'    Family: Orchidaceae (Orchid family)

Oncidium is an extraordinarily large and diverse genus, native to tropical America, with an equally diverse number of habitats. Oncidiums may originate anywhere from sea level in the tropics to the high elevations of the Andes. Oncidium Goldiana is a cross between O. flexuosum and O. sphacelatum. It has green pseudobulbs and long racemes with small flowers and a dominant lip. They are golden yellow with reddish-brown barring. The leaves are long and narrow. The flower raceme rise much above the leaves.
