Botanical name: Osbeckia leschenaulti Family: Melastomataceae (melastome family)
There are several varieties of Osbeckia, most of which sprinkle the hill
country scrub jungles with shades of purple and mauve, when in bloom.
Small shrubs, or herbs. Young stems often tetragonal. Helophytic, or
mesophytic. Leaves opposite; sometimes somewhat turgescent; petiolate (petiole
generally short); simple. Leaf blades entire; lanceolate.
