Botanical name: Chiloschista parishii Family: Orchidaceae (Orchid family)
Parish's Chiloschista is a miniature sized, leafless
tree-dwelling orchid with small leaves that wither before blooming in
the spring and summer on an erect, 10-20 cm long, velvet-hairy raceme
with 10 to 20, fragrant flowers. It is named for Charles Parish
(1800's). The flower spikes are long, cascading
from the center of the plant and sporting many wonderfully fragrant,
almost buttercup-like flowers. The flowers are yellow prominently
reddish spotted. Parish's Chiloschista is found in E. Nepal, to NE
India to Indo-China.
