Sahyadri Rotala is a rare and newly described
rotala species. It is similar to Rotala tenella but differs in
having self-pollination flowers, nectary glands on sepal tube and 8-12
multi-cellular black trichomes in the axils of bracteoles. It is a
small aquatic herb about 10 cm, very delicate plant, with very small
flowers.
