Soft Sedge is a perennial herb, clustered, crowded; with stems 8-40 cm tall, bluntly to sharply triangular, bases bulbous. Leaves are many, linear, 1-5 mm wide, rough on the margins and veins. Flowers are borne in head-like green, greenish-white or white tinged green, hemispherical to ovoid clusters. Soft Sedge is found in Tropical Africa, South India, Indo-China to Malesia.
