Tapering-Leaf Liparis is a terrestrial orchid with
stem 7.5-12.5 cm, many-sheathed to the base which is not swollen.
Leaves are 5-6 stalkless, erect, broadly sheathing,
elliptic-lanceshaped, finely tapering, bracts minute ovate. Flowers are
large, sepals spreading, lateral oblong-lanceshaped, curved, pointed,
5-nerved; dorsal linear, lip slightly recurved transversely oblong
almost rounded-toothed, contracted into a short 2-tubercled neck,
column slender incurved flat, wings -very small. Leaves are very
membranous, slightly recurved ; nerves very slender. Flowering stem is
10-15 cm; bracts 2-3 mm ovate; flower-stalks 1.2-1.8 cm; buds 1.2 cm,
sickle shaped; lip with erect sides, slightly recurved. Tapering-Leaf
Liparis is found in NE India to Indo-China.
