Velvet Pink Banana is an interesting dwarf species of banana, growing only 4-6 ft tall. It bears somewhat waxy leaves which are quite large and can grow to 1-2 ft long. The flowers are pink to orange. The most ornamental part of the plant is its fruits, dwarf bananas, which are a bright, velvety pink and last for months at a time. Fruits are covered with thin hairs. They are edible and quite sweet, but also full of seeds. Velvet Pink Banana is found in East Himalaya, including Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
