Wavy-Leaf Basketgrass is an annual grass with prostrate or trailing stems 10-60 cm long. Leaves are lanceshaped to narrowly ovate, 1-9 cm long, 0.5-2 cm wide, prominently wavy. Flowers are borne in 2-11 cm long inflorescences. Racemes are 0.5-2.5 cm long, their spine is hairy, the spikelets contiguous. Spikelets are lanceshaped, 2.5-3.5 mm long, velvety, often with a transverse band of hairs across the middle of the lower lemma, rarely hairless, glumes with a rough awn, that of the lower 2.5-20 mm long, the upper shorter.
