Botanical name: Agapanthus africanus f. albus Family: Agapanthaceae (Lily of the Nile family ) This is the white cousin of the more common
Lily of the Nile. It is a perennial herb which is becoming common as a garden plant in colder areas in India.
It sports
beautiful, many flowered, rounded umbels of white trumpet shaped flowers
atop a stout, long stalk. It flowers in late summer. The petals may have a
slightly darker back. Leaves, arising from the base. are mainly evergreen,
long and strap like in appearance. White Lily of the Nile comes from South
Africa. Flowering: July-August.
