Botanical name: Campsis radicans 'Flava'    Family: Bignoniaceae (Jacaranda family)

Yellow Trumpet Creeper is a perennial, clinging vine, extremely vigorous growing, can reach 30-40 feet high. It is yellow variety of the more familiar orange Trumpet Creeper. It needs to be frequently pruned to keep it at bay, it is an effective fast cover. It has lovely, trumpet-shaped yellow flowers which bloom all summer on trouble-free vines. It is quite hardy. Will grow out of a crack in the sidewalk. Prefers full sun for maximum growth and flower production, but tolerates partial shade. Keep soil moist until completely established. Drought tolerant when established. Fertilize in spring just before growth begins. Prune to control growth in early spring and summer. May be trained on a fence as a screen. Campsis radicans is native to the southeastern and Gulf Coast region of the United States where it grows along fences and at the edge of woodlands.
