Botanical name: Deutzia bhutanensis    Family: Hydrangeaceae (Hydrangea family)

Bhutan Deutzia is a deciduous shrub, distinguished by its pinkish-purple flowers with elliptic petals 1-1.2 cm long. Flower are borne in rather dense clusters in leaf axils. The plant sometimes flowers with young leaves or sometime on leafless branches. Leaves are elliptic-lanceshaped, up to 4 cm long, green on both sides, with minutely toothed margin. Bhutan Deutzia is found in the Eastern Himalayas, from Nepal to Bhutan, at altitudes of 2100-2400 m.
