Botanical name: Phyllanthus buxifolius    Family: Phyllanthaceae (Amla family)
Synonyms: Diasperus buxifolius, Scepasma buxifolia

Seligi is a versatile evergreen foliage plant prized for its dense, glossy green leaves and compact growth habit. Stems are erect, woody, round, branched, rough surface and brown. Leaves appear to be compound, but they are actually simple leaves encircling the stem, shiny, ovate, pointed tip, blunt base, flatedge, and green. Flowers are single, in leaf-axils, short-stemmed, stamens short and yellow, the pistil is not clear, the crown is tubular, the tip is rounded, yellow. Fruits are round, 5-10 mm in diameter, still young green, ripe brown. Seligi is native to Borneo, Jawa, Lesser Sunda Is., Philippines, cultivated world wide.
