Twisted Rosewood Creeper is a climbing shrub, climbing
by means of divaricate lateral twigs often twisted, hooked at the ends.
Leaves are compound, with 5-7 leaflets, 2-4.5 x 1-1.5 cm, elliptic to
obovate, base pointed, tip rounded or notched, sparsely adpressed hairy
beneath; leaflet-stalks about 2 mm long; axis 2-5 cm long. Flowers are
borne in a simple or branched raceme, 1.8-3.7 cm long, in leaf-axils
and on lateral short branchlets. Flowers are 5-8 mm long, white. Petals
have claws longer than the sepal-cup; standard ovate, slightly eared.
Sepal-cup is about 4 mm long; sepals rounded or blunt. Ovary is linear,
stiped, 1-2-ovuled. Pods are 2-3 x 1-1.5 cm, sickle-shaped to
crescent-shaped, flat, pointed, thick, 1-seeded. Seeds are
kidney-shaped, compressed. Twisted Rosewood Creeper is found in South
India to SE China, SE Asia to Australia. Flowering: May-August.
